1 Week to Egypt Project

I am getting excited. You can all invite your parents to our Egyptian Museum. It will be next Friday, October 4th from 9:15 - 12:15. We are going to be set up in Mrs. Lindsay's room. Anyone who needs something to do this weekend can make posters to hang up around the school. The posters should include the following information (you can also add Egyptian pictures):

Egypt Final Project

 All Projects are due: Friday, October 4th 
Final projects must include a project and a written report. Project is worth 50 pts. Written report is worth 50 pts. The assignment is worth 100 points!

 Here are some ideas for Egypt Final Projects (These are just suggestions)
 • Make a pyramid out of sugar cubes and paint it.
• Translate a short phrase into pictures, and paint it onto a big poster board.
 • Make a sarcophagus (coffin) out of a cardboard box and decorate it with hieroglyphics.
• Take a doll and wrap it in cloth strips until it's completely covered. You may want to start at the feet and work your way up to the head. Insert amulets (special charms) between linen wrappings. You can use anything from jewelry to coins.
• Make a Canopic Jar be creative in manufacturing the internal organs in the jars.
• Create a drawing or painting about an Egyptian item

BE CREATIVE AND HAVE FUN!
 Written Report requirements: Minimum of 2 Pages, typed, double spaced, size 14 font, Times New Roman. NO CUT AND PASTE THIS MUST BE AN ORIGINAL PIECE 

Include: What is your item? 
Give a brief history of its existence. 
Why was this item important in Ancient Egypt? 
What customs are associated with the item? 
How was the item made/prepared in Ancient Egypt? 
Is this item used in current day Egypt?
